Lucas Barber looks unimposing. Until he throws his first pitch. At 5-foot-9, 140 pounds, Barber is smaller than almost everyone he throws to. Yet he's the reigning Big Northern Conference West Division Pitcher of the Year and the main reason Byron is favored to win in 2010.
"Lucas doesn't have much size, but he makes up for it with everything else," coach Ray Bielskis said. "He's hard-nosed. He might only be 5-9, but once he starts throwing, he looks like he's 6-4 on the mound. He won't back down from anybody."

Adam Head IS 6-4 at the plate. With a half-inch to spare. He's Byron's other returning unanimous all-conference player and bats No. 3 in the lineup to Barber's No. 4. Read more from Matt Trowbridge RRSTAR.COM
